Brief Statement (Why did you choose Iowa State University and AgEdS): I wanted to stay close to the family farm and wanted to teach high school agriculture, so I decided to come back to school and get my teaching certificate from a great agriculture program.

Brief Informational Statement about home: I was raised on a family farm in Northeastern Iowa, just outside the small town of Mt. Auburn. I grew up on a 2,000 acre livestock and crop production farm. We currently have a 280 head cow-calf operation. I was actively involved in 4-H and FFA in my younger years. I just received my B.S. from Iowa State University in May 2007 in Agriculture Education with the Communications Option.
