Club involvement: I have been active in the Block & Bridle Club and Meat Evaluation Team. I was also part of the 2005 All-American Meat Judging Team. In addition, I have been actively involved in planning VEISHA activities.
Internships: I have taken my interest in animal science and communications to find internships within the animal industry. I had a sales internship with Tyson Fresh Meats in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota. I also had sales and marketing internship with Elanco Animal Health in Omaha, Nebraska. In my most recent internship, I found an interest in international trade in policy as I worked with the National Pork Producers Council in Washington, DC.

Why did you choose agricultural education- communications? I chose Agricultural Education-Communications because of its flexibility. It tailors to my interests and I can make it what I want.

What surprised you the most about Iowa State? I appreciate how the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is like a community.
What advice do you have for incoming students? Take advantage of every opportunity. Go to class, but remember to save time to have fun.
