Research Interests

My research interest focuses on the career development of students enrolled in secondary and postsecondary programs of agriculture. In terms of my research with secondary students, I have a strong interest in students who are enrolled in urban agricultural education programs. The theoretical context of my research program is Social Cognitive Career Theory (Lent, Brown, & Hackett, 1994). In particular, I’m interested in examining how the social cognitive variables of self-efficacy, outcome expectations, and interests predict career choice within the domain of agriculture.
