Teaching and Research Responsibilities
Dr. Retallick has a 75% teaching and 25% research appointment. His teaching
and research is focused on the study of experiential learning as it
relates to formal education at both the secondary and higher education
levels and non-formal as it relates to 4-H and extension. Areas of
study include early field experiences, internships/field experiences,
teaching and learning in the classroom, Science With Practice, and
learning communities.
Dr. Retallick serves as Director of Undergraduate Programs for the Department
of Agricultural Education and Studies. In this capacity, he coordinates
the academic advising and undergraduate admissions for the department.

Dr. Retallick is a native of Southwest Wisconsin. He was the high school agriculture
instructor and FFA Advisor at Maquoketa Community Schools, Iowa from
1993 - 2001.
