Dr. Sorrel Brown has served as an adjunct professor and lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Education and Studies. Her areas of focus involve Evaluation for both Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension and research in the College of Agriculture. She currently coordinates the Internship program for the Department of Agricultural Education and Studies.

Dr. Brown has been named chair of the College of Agriculture Diversity Committee, which she has been a member of since 1998.

She established IDEA in 1995 as a self-sustaining, fee-based service to develop, produce, and effectively market educational products or programs nationally in a broad range of disciplines.

Dr. Brown served as an Extension crop specialist in central Iowa for 8 years. She worked with producers, agribusinesses and Extension staff conducting research and demonstrations in crop systems, developing educational programs in crop production, and crop troubleshooting. Dr. Brown also managed the Pesticide and the Environment Program which oversaw pesticide applicator training. She served as State Liaison to the National Pesticide Impact Assessment Program.
