Dr. Miller is a professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Studies and in the School of Education at Iowa State University. He has been a member of the faculty at Iowa State University since 1992. Miller’s teaching responsibilities focus on teacher education and research methods. His research focuses on issues related to distance learning and also issues in teacher education. Dr. Miller is the Director of Graduate Education for the Agricultural Education and Professional Agriculture majors. He has completed several international assignments including a Fulbright Senior Specialist project in Thailand.
Dr. Miller is a Senior Fellow in the American Association for Agricultural Education (AAAE). He is also a North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture Teacher Fellow. Miller has received many other awards and recognitions including the AAAE Distinguished Research Award, the Iowa Educational Research and Evaluation Association Distinguished Research Award, the Journal of Agricultural Education Author of the year award, the Outstanding Young Agricultural Educator Award for the Central region of AAAE, and the Bowdon High School Teacher of the Year Award.
Prior to joining Iowa State, Dr. Miller was a graduate research and teaching associate at The Ohio State University where he earned his PhD. He was a high school agriculture teacher in Bowdon, Georgia and earned B.S. and M.ED. degrees from Auburn University.
