451X - Agriculture Law
The course is designed to provide students with an ability to identify
agricultural legal problems and acquaint them with the basic legal
framework within which decisions are made and economic and social activity
are carried on. Students will gain the ability to spot legal issues
arising in agriculture and an enhanced awareness of the need for legal
counsel.
452X - Legal Issues in Agriculture
Designed for off-campus programs in agriculture. The legal framework
impinging on decision-making by individuals, families, and firms in
agriculture; ownership and transfer of real property, commercial law
including secured transactions, sales, and negotiable instruments;
bankruptcy, income tax planning and management; estate and business
planning for the farm family, civil liabilities; water law, environmental
law, governmental regulation of agriculture.
