Agricultural Studies

Agricultural Studies offers two options, Multidisciplinary and Production and Management.   The Multidisciplinary option requires students to select three emphasis areas (at least two from the college of agriculture and life sciences), complete university and college requirements as well as field based experiences.  This option provides students with the opportunities to focus on the agriculture areas of their choice and compliment these emphasis areas with experiences and free electives.   The Production and Management option covers the broad spectrum of agriculture and life sciences with the flexibility for you to customize the major to pursue your career goals. This option includes a foundation of coursework in agronomy, animal science, agricultural business, natural resources, farm operation and agricultural law.   Then, students use a large number of free electives to personalize their remaining coursework through minors or targeted coursework in their interest areas.

With a solid background in agriculture and life sciences, you are prepared for a career in many areas of agriculture from production agriculture to extension to agribusiness. The quality and flexibility of the program make this a popular major for incoming high school students as well as transfer students from community colleges.
