Agriculture and Life Sciences Education - Teacher Certification Freshman Peer Mentors

Hello and welcome to the Cyclone Family!

We’re excited for you to join us on campus this fall in the Agricultural Education and Studies Department! We are your peer mentors--Katelyn Zimmerman and Lindsey Meyers. We are so excited to meet you and serve as your peer mentors for this upcoming year! Katelyn will be a senior and Lindsey will be a junior, so we hope to share our experiences with you to help you transition to Iowa State. Feel free to Facebook stalk us for a familiar face or reach out to us using our email addresses or phone numbers found below.

Some tips for when you come to Ames:

  1. Get in the habit of checking your email regularly. Download it on your phone for easy access and regular notifications.

  2. Download the MyState app. You can see your schedule, bus routes, laundry, food, etc. It is a lifesaver.

  3. Get a planner and/or calendar to write on to remember when assignments are due.

  4. Figure out a study method that works best for you. Knowing your best method of studying can help you find a place on campus that can accommodate your needs.

  5. Get involved early. Iowa State has more than 800 clubs and activities to choose from. Join clubs and meet new people, you won’t regret it.

If you need anything or have any questions, feel free to reach out to us!
