AGEDS Summer Orientation 2020

Welcome to the Department of Agricultural Education and Studies!

The Department of Agricultural Education and Studies has as its focus the teaching and learning processes. All three elements of the land-grant philosophy - learning, discovery, and engagement - are part of the department's emphasis on the educational processes, and how these processes impact our clientele in a variety of agricultural settings.  We offer two majors: Agriculture and Life Sciences Education (Communication Option and Teacher Certification Option) and Agricultural Studies.  Our faculty and staff look forward to meeting you and working with you this fall.

One of the classes you will be enrolled in this fall is AGEDS 110A/110B - New Student Orientation.  This class has three goals: help you become familiar with your university, your major and other students.  In support of these goals, we have hired several peer mentors as part of the AGEDS Learning Community.  These students are returning students in your major that will be there to ensure your transition to ISU is as successful as possible.

The orientation academic adviser you meet with this summer may or may not be your  academic adviser this fall.  You will recieve your adviser assignment in July.  Exterior of Curtiss Hall
